The Catholic Foundation of Greater Philadelphia (CFGP) (https://thecfgp.org/) is an independent, nonprofit community foundation committed to growing philanthropy according to the teachings of Jesus Christ.

We are seeking a full-time Chief Financial Officer / CFO who is a CPA for our organization of about 30 employees.

The Chief Financial Officer / CFO / CPA is responsible for the financial strategy of the organization and oversight of all accounting, finance, and risk management activities.  The CFO is also responsible for the organization's human resources function, payroll, benefits administration, and the management of legal/compliance activities.  The CFO also serves as the primary management liaison to the Finance and Audit Committee and Investment Committee of the organization's Board of Trustees.  

RESPONSIBILITIES of the Chief Financial Officer / CFO / CPA:

*Daily, assist Accounting Staff as necessary in financial operations, including cash management, AR, AP, etc.

*Monthly, ensure the accounting close is completed timely.

*Quarterly, prepare financial forecasts and compare those forecasts with previously budgeted amounts.

*Annually, ensure that audited financial statements are completed in a timely manner and that an unqualified opinion on such statements is issued by the organization’s independent auditing firm.

*Annually, prepare the budgets for the coming year and obtain all requisite approvals to implement such from the CEO, Finance and Audit Committee, and Board of Trustees.

*Provide the CEO, Finance and Audit Committee, and Board of Trustees with advice and insights into the financial implications of proposed business activities.

*Assist the CEO with high-level decisions about strategy, policies, personnel.

*Serve as the primary point of contact with the organization’s bank, investment advisor, insurance broker, and outside compliance firm.  

*Provide necessary service and communication to clients, donors, and fundholders.


REQUIREMENTS of the Chief Financial Officer / CFO / CPA:

*Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.  CPA license required.

*Minimum of 7 years of progressively responsible experience in senior management working in an accounting or finance role for a not-for-profit organization.

*Familiarity with Blackbaud's Financial Edge.

*Should possess an acceptable working knowledge of HR and payroll activities.

*Proficient in Microsoft Office Products including Microsoft Word, Excel, Adobe, and Outlook.

*Able to work in a team environment.

*Good listening and organizational skills and attention to detail are important.

*Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

The CFO position provides a salary range is $115,000 to $125,000 commensurate with experience along with an excellent benefits package.
