POSITION SUMMARY:

The Creative Specialist is responsible for meeting the creative and design needs of marketing communications and fundraising colleagues in Development and Communications. He/she/they leads the creative ideation for integrated marketing campaigns, including point of view, design, channel assets and tool kits. He/she/they is expected to produce print, digital materials, graphics, animations, video clips and develops creative concepts for events and special ad hoc projects; and creates other branded tools and templates.

In addition, he/she/they should have knowledge of digital asset management methods and best practices. He/she/they will oversee our digital asset management system and maintain its standards and asset library.

He/she/they should be a detail-oriented self-starter who can work cross-functionally in a matrixed environment. They should be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously, balance tight deadlines and work within existing design structures/brand identity system. Have a keen eye for design, modern graphic communication skills, a visual storytelling sense, and a strong interest in our brand.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:  


Creative Design

  • Ideates and designs or oversees design of a full range of high-impact collateral including but not limited to high-level evergreen brand print materials, including brochures, 1-pagers, capacity statements, social media clips and animations, web pages and web assets, infographics, major donor appeals and special mailings, Annual Reports, pitch presentation decks, video and more.
  • Ideates and designs assets for cause marketing, peer to peer, social campaigns and other fundraising and awareness initiatives, serving as in-house creative consultant.
  • Reviews and consults on branded materials, campaigns, and content as needed; and creates processes, guidelines, assets, and templates for further standardizing visual and verbal assets across Project HOPE.

Brand Management

  • Manages brand visual standards and requirements to maintain a consistent and coherent design platform that accurately represents PH’s strategic imperatives and goals.
  • Empowers Project HOPE staff to represent our brand effectively and independently, by creating brand templates, orientations, and training, and supporting PH staff, internal and external partners, and vendors with the information and tools they need to maintain brand standards in applications and design.

Digital Asset Management

  • Uphold the integrity of our DAM and photo usage guidelines.
  • Maintain and ensure all assets have the correct metadata and cataloging system. Work with freelance photographers to collect assets with proper credit and caption information from content gathering trips.

Other Duties as Assigned

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • AA/AS and minimum 5 years of experience in brand, creative services and/or digital channels
  • Creative thinker with an eye on visual design
  • A high attention to detail and organization
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to deliver results on schedule.
  • Team player able to work across departments and teams to deliver results
  • Experience in Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere or video editing software, WordPress
  • Experience and expertise with professional communications/interactions; Ability to build relationships remotely
  • Strong communication skills, written and oral, as well as proofreading
  • Ability to take on new challenges with excitement and curiosity while maintaining a consistent, positive attitude

 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Graphic design/video editing skills
  • Digital asset management proficiency
  • Advertising agency experience
  • Project management system e.g., Asana, Trello, Basecamp

Physical demands:  

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be mobile in an office environment and able to use standard office equipment.
  • Must be able to communicate in verbal and written form and must be able to travel internationally.
  • Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship.”

Work environment

  • Typical office environment with exposure to a minimal noise level.
  • Emergency deployments may be in resource-deprived environments with austere living conditions.
  • Travel for extended periods may be by air and/or other modes of transportation.
  • While international travel is not a regular part of every job, programmatic needs may require it intermittently.
  • Project HOPE employees may be required to travel or work in countries where working conditions are classified as “hardship.”
