For nearly 20 years, Brian Becker has served as a consultant and executive leadership coach, helping nonprofits build highly effective boards and craft transformative strategic plans. Over 100 organizations have executed dynamic and innovative plans with his guidance.

His second book, Igniting the Powder Keg: Seven Keys for Nonprofit Board Engagement was just released and the chapter Generosity: Where Gladness Meets Hunger is available for free today in PDF format for any participant who requests it.

He is also the co-author, with his son Jeff, of Tender Lions: Building the Vital Relationship Between Father and Son. The book has been widely praised for its honest, hope-filled guidance to dads who want to build or repair strong emotional and relational bonds with their sons.

Going Fast Slowly will allow us to pause together as Christian fundraising leaders, rediscovering that our work is not first about money, but about invitation into mission, joy, and shared purpose. Drawing on the wisdom of Henri Nouwen’s classic little book The Spirituality of Fundraising, we’ll reflect on the paradox of the many “fast” moving pieces our calling requires and our need to be “slow” in spirit. Through guided conversation, we’ll explore how fundraising can be a sacred space rather than a race for results.
