Pressure and Justice: The Social Gospel and Black Liberation Theology
Friday, February 6, 2026 - 10:30 AM
The Social Gospel has long been the social justice arm of the Catholic faith. Its clarion call is clear and aims to apply Christian ethics to social problems. As Christians (disciples), the Holy Bible calls believers to perform social justice in every area of human life. This discussion will use James H. Cone's Black Liberation Theology as a framework to redefine the work of 21st-century Social Gospel and social justice movements.
Primary Scripture: Micah 6:8
Secondary Scripture: Amos 5:25
