Confronting the Reality of Aging in Our Professional, Spiritual and Personal Lives
Beginning with my own journey and experience of aging over the last four years, I hope our collective discussion will offer us as fund development professionals hope, insights and perspective as we and those we love to confront the challenges of growing older.
A native of Philadelphia, Christopher pursued a major in architecture and urban studies at Syracuse University prior to attending St. Charles Borromeo Seminary in Wynnewood, PA, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy, a Master of Divinity, and a Master of Arts in Theology in preparation for ministry as a Catholic priest. He served as a priest in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia in various roles, but primarily as a high school teacher and college/university chaplain.
Since 1998, he has been involved with and led various non-profits and faith-based organizations including United Way and Cancer Support Community, among others. Now in his 18th year with the Congregation of the Passion, he is the director of East Coast Donor Relations for Holy Cross Province of the congregation of Catholic priests and brothers.
Christopher completed training at Indiana University’s Fundraising School as well as numerous programs with the National Catholic Development Conference and the Association of Fundraising Professionals. He has a Graduate Certificate in Non-Profit and Government Management from the University of Connecticut, attained the Certified Fund Raising Executive credential and completed the Chartered Advisor of Philanthropy program with the American College of Financial Services.
He served as an officer and as president for the Association of Fundraising Professionals-Greater Philadelphia Chapter, and currently serves on the Advisory Board of TNPA’s Catholic Development Council based in Washington, D.C.

About Spiritual Connection: On the first Friday of each month, a featured speaker will lead a 30-minute virtual discussion. Spiritual Connection provides CDC members a brief opportunity to get inspired by topics with a faith-based twist - and to decompress from your busy schedules! The content will be spiritual in nature, but topics are not necessarily about fundraising, although they certainly may be relevant to development. They may include a current event, a devotional piece, tips about health, a passage from a book, etc.—it is really up to the speaker to decide! Speakers will introduce a topic in which they are passionate, and lead participants through a 10-15-minute presentation or talk, followed by a facilitated discussion on their topic with the entire group. We hope participants will feel a little sense of renewal after the 30 minutes, fresh in their thoughts, connected to this community, and looking forward to next month’s Spiritual Connection.
