Role Overview

The Workplace Giving & Matching Gift Manager will be responsible for developing and driving external-facing engagement strategies for acquisition, cultivation, and upgrading of workplace giving individual donors to achieve revenue and retention goals. As a member of the Individual Giving & Strategic Philanthropy unit, this role will manage key external relationships with matching gift vendors, federated partners, and third-party aggregators (TPAs) specializing in workplace giving. This role will work closely with Data & Analytics and Development Operations to enhance data quality, ensuring accurate revenue attribution and giving trend analyses for workplace giving donors. The role will collaborate with internal stakeholders, including channel experts within Integrated Channel Marketing to effectively launch campaigns through workplace giving platforms such as Benevity. Additionally, they will collaborate with Corporate Partnerships, while overseeing MSF-USA’s participation in related events. This role will stay current on workplace giving trends and best practices and maintain a network of peer nonprofits for benchmarking.

Prospecting

Pursue strategic opportunities in coherence with MSF-USA´s strategy, that create long-term value for the movement by identifying and developing new audience segments or donors for its mission.

Donor Cultivation, Engagement and Management

Build trust and loyalty with potential and existing donors. At the simplest level, update donors on activities. At a more complex level, build long-term relationships with key donors and key donor segments. Take overall responsibility for designing, developing, and delivering the donor engagement strategy. May be through channels or through personal relationships.

Fundraising

Secure reliable, sustainable, and efficient resources in alignment with MSF-US commitments.

Brand Positioning

Drive awareness and consideration through brand positioning based on the brand strategy and implement brand plans.

Best-in-Class Fundraising Systems and Capabilities

Deploy and champion the latest technological systems and capabilities that push the boundaries of what Development can produce for its donors.

ROLES SPECIFIC OUTCOMES
Donor Relationship Development (Prospecting)
Develop and implement a donor contact plan to communicate and engage potential donors in relevant campaigns to build new relationships. Act as first point of contact for donor queries and complaints and resolve these, referring complex issues to others and ensuring that the donor receives an appropriate response.

Stakeholder Management
Plan and deliver stakeholder engagement activities to develop effective project working relationships and to ensure that stakeholder needs and concerns are identified and met.

Marketing 
Execute a marketing plan for a particular product, service or specialty area while working within established marketing systems. 

Fundraising Events Development and Design
Coordinates event logistics such as scheduling, preparing materials, and liaising with vendors. Contributes to the creation of digital content for event promotion and assists in the ideation and planning of unique fundraising events. Supports preparation of business cases for innovative fundraising events.

Vendor Management 
Act as primary vendor liaison, directing activities and fostering positive and productive relationships. Respond to complex incidents and analyze performance against vendor key performance indicators (KPIs).   Drive collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvements in process and performance. 

Data Management
Use data management systems to access specific information as and when required.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
At a minimum, the Job Holder should possess:

  • Minimum five to seven years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, workplace giving, or corporate fundraising.
  • Proven track record of achieving fundraising goals.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and customizing with workplace giving platforms or other indirect giving platforms such as Benevity, YourCause, Cybergrants, Paypal Giving Fund, and more.
  • Strong data management skills, including proficiency in donor databases (Salesforce NPSP preferred). 
  • Familiarity with database structures, integrations, uploads, and hygiene.
  • Ability to analyze trends and metrics to produce actionable insights with clear and concise reporting.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to successfully guide cross-functional teams and external vendors through complex projects with competing deadlines.
  • Familiarity with creating online and offline campaigns.
  • Experience in event management, including coordinating logistics and speaker engagements.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, able to effectively collaborate and establish buy-in across all organizational levels and diverse stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Excel and familiarity with project management tools such as Asana.
  • Knowledge of corporate fundraising practices.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred

  • Knowledge of international relief or humanitarian sector experiences.
    Experience managing budgeting and forecasting related to fundraising programs.

Travel Requirements 

Ability to travel for donor visits, MSF events, and industry events, with up to 25% of time spent traveling.

Compensation

$88,822 - $133,233; In alignment with MSF USA’s compensation framework, new hires are offered between the minimum and midpoint of the range based on relevant experience, skills, and internal equity.
